What to Expect
So, it’s Sunday morning. Maybe you’ve had a nagging feeling that you need to get back to church… or maybe you’ve never been to church but, something in your heart has been calling you to explore your spiritual side…or maybe you have been a Christian for a long time and you are feeling that familiar stir that God is moving you on to new things. You get up, get dressed, and most importantly get some caffeine into your system! Then you head out to a little church you caught wind of, the Light House. In the back of your mind you wonder, “what’s this going to be like?”
What Can you expect at The Light House?
- A new church ~ We are a daughter church of the Brooklyn Tabernacle and opened up a little over 2 years ago.
- An intimate setting ~ We're a family here at The Light House. We start the morning spending time together before we start the service. We often have potlucks after the service to encourage, get to know each other, and laugh together. Girl’s Night Out and Guy's Night Out are always on the calendar. We believe that God has called us to be a family no matter our backgrounds, ages or other differences.
- Prayer ~ We are a church that prays. We believe so strongly in the verse that says “you have not because you ask not”, so we regularly pray during the service and hold a weekly prayer meeting on Wednesday Nights. No matter what you - or a loved one - are facing, no matter the need, no matter the circumstance we know God is able to do miracles!
- Worship ~ God has done so much for us that we love to worship him! We are not afraid to lift our hands and sing praises to Him. We come expectantly every Sunday morning knowing that as we leave the stress of the week behind and usher in God’s presence that we will be changed and encouraged as we meet with Him!
- The Word ~ Every week we explore the Word of God. We know the Bible is more than just a book. It has truths within that are able to give us victory over the hardships in life and able to transform our lives!
- Come as you are ~ Whether you feel comfortable in jeans or your "Sunday best" we welcome you to come and experience all God has for you at the Light House. God speaks the language of the heart and is not looking at your clothing, skin color, bank account, car or hairstyle...and...neither or we!
