Pastor Josh and Marleen find themselves in Colorado after an amazing 10 year journey. It began in 1997. They were both actors in NYC, but God had a different plan. He brought them to The Brooklyn Tabernacle in Brooklyn,NY. There they were both saved and felt an immediate call to the ministry. During their time in NYC they were married and had two children. They were both on staff at The Brooklyn Tabernacle and Pastor Josh sang with The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and toured with The Singers while Marleen directed the dramas. As wonderful as their experience was in NYC God began to burden their hearts that he was going to move them on. Many people around them began to feel it as well. After 3 years of prayer God showed them He wanted them to start a church in Aurora, CO. This began a journey of faith. Not only did they not have any money to move across the country, but Pastor Josh had no job prospects and they did not know how or exactly where to begin the church. They decided they would just set a date and trust God to do the rest. August 1st 2005. As the days counted down and they began to wonder if they were crazy God began to do miracles. Money began flowing in, including a check for $10,000 from an anonymous donor.

They packed up their little family and made the move. God has been faithful every step of the way. Providing for every need as The Carroll’s have waited upon Him. They are so thankful to the Lord now that The Light House has come to be and they are excited to see His plans unfold in the future.

The Carroll’s lives were transformed by the amazing power of God and their hearts desire is to see others experience His amazing love and life-changing power.

Jeremy and Dawn Johnson also join The Light House from NYC. While serving at The Brooklyn Tabernacle they began to feel that one day they would like to help a small church. During this time they met Pastor Josh and Marleen, little did they know that one day they would be moving across the country to help them with their small church! The Johnson’s are an amazing blessing to the The Light House.

Jeremy Johnson is a leader in the “Shine the Light” Evangelism team and teacher in the “Anchor’d” membership course. He also is a part of “Psalmists” The Light House’s Worship Team and heads up the “S.W.A.T Team”.

Dawn Johnson is The Light House’s resident Martha Stewart, heading up “Grace” the hospitality ministry. She is also a leader in The Children’s Ministry and is wonderful with children.

Lonni comes to The Light House from Texas. When Lonni heard that Pastor Josh and Marleen were starting a church in Aurora, Co she felt that the Lord wanted her to come and visit and encourage them. While visiting Colorado God not only spoke to her heart to help support the ministry, but that she would one day join them as well. That day has come! Lonni fills in wherever needed doing administration work, playing guitar with the Psalmists, teaching Sunday school, and discipling women. She is also a leader in “The Armor Bearers Prayer Ministry.”
